How kikieats came to be
Kikieats was created to showcase the culinary beauty of both well-known and off-the-beaten-path restaurants around the world.
Through visiting over 35 countries, Kira Berzack has developed an immense passion for immersing herself in the gastronomic delights of each country and city.
Beginning at a young age, Kira took on the role of researching and booking all the restaurants for her family vacations. This may have been partly because the places her dad had been booking were not "trendy" enough, but it was also because of her zest for knowledge and love for all things food-related.
Searching for restaurants in a foreign and unfamiliar city is difficult. And it is even harder to do when you're a girl that doesn't eat meat or shellfish and has a pretty picky family. I could not always find meal options at the restaurants that were suggested for each city. With extensive research, I have found restaurants that have plenty of options for every type of eater and will accommodate anyone. I know scrolling through the hundreds of recommendations from various blogs and Instagrams can only be so helpful as it is tough to know when a restaurant is truly worth the hype, or if it's just a paid ad. That's why kikieats was created: a place to find restaurant recommendations from just an ordinary, slightly picky, small girl with a big appetite :)
